3-time CEBL Player of the Year Xavier Moon signs with L.A. Clippers
The Point Guard led the Edmonton Stingers to consecutive CEBL championships
The LA Clippers have signed former Edmonton Stingers guard Xavier Moon to a 10-day contract under the COVID-related hardship allowance. Moon appeared in 14 contests for the Clippers' G League affiliate, A.C. CLIPPERS of Ontario, this season, averaging 12.4 points, 7.3 assists and 4.4 rebounds across 30.1 minutes per game. He signed with the Agua Caliente Clippers in October and was shooting over 50% from the field with them. Moon will likely serve as a depth option while Reggie Jackson (COVID-19 protocols) and Paul George (elbow) are sidelined.
A three-time Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) MVP Xavier Moon led the Edmonton Stingers to the CEBL title in each of the past two season, taking Finals MVP honors both times.
Moon, a 26-year-old point guard from Goodwater, Ala., also led the CEBL in scoring in 2021. Xavier Moon is the nephew of former NBA player Jamario Moon, who averaged 3.5 PPG in 19 games with the Clippers during the 2010-’11 season.
